Chapter 6: xiTSONGA: The Tsonga people are well-known for their rich musical heritage, which is based on the playing of a wide variety of musical instruments. These can be divided into three categories: stringed, wind and percussion. On this chapter we look at The Evolution of Xitsonga guitarists, Main Figures: M.D Shirinda,Thomas Chauke, G.T Chauke, and MJ Hlongwane. To add depth and perspective, guest artist – Marhoya Chauke was invited to address various aspects of the tutorial and provide demonstrations and interview in video.
